Photocatalytic degradation of Brilliant cres yl blue (BCB) has been examined in TiO 2 dispersions under visible light. The degradations kinetics was studied under different conditions such as substrate and photocatalyst concentration, reaction pH, addition of oxidants and temperature. The degradation rates proved to be strongly influenced by these parameters. As a result, it was found that the efficiency of the process strongly depends on the working conditions. The highest degradation rate of BCB was obtained at optimum parameters such as dosage of TiO 2 (150 mg/100 mL), pH (11.00) and dye concentration 5.0 x 10 -5 mol dm -3 . The degradation of dye was also investig ated under sunlight. The photocatalyst TiO 2 was to be more efficient for the degradation of BCB dye. Complete COD reduction was observed in 8 h of irradiation time. CO 2 and NO 3 - ions were identified as final mineralization products
