Objective To investigate the protective effects of Polygonum Multiflorum polysaccharide (PMP) on H2O2-induced apoptosis in PC12 cells. Methods MTT assay was used to assess the viability of PC12 cells which exposed to PMP with gradient concentrations; Flow cytometry(FCM) assay was used to analyze the apoptosis ratio of PC12 cells; Hoechst 33258 stain assay was used to observe the changes in PC12 cells nuclear morphology; Results PMP could protect the PC12 cells morphology, reduce the apoptosis rate and rescue H2O2-induced changes in nuclear morphology. Conclusion These results indicated that PMP could protect PC12 cells from H2O2-induced damage.
