Triterpenoid and sterol constituents of Strobilanthes ciliatus Nees

Phytochemical investigation on the stems of Strobilanthes ciliatus Nees (FamilyAcanthaceae) was conducted. The separation of the chemical components was carried out by chromatography and structures of the compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including nuclear magnetic resonance as well as mass spectrometry. The compounds were identified as Lupeol, Stigmasterol, Betulin, and Stigmasterol glycoside.
